Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an approved institution

·        Candidate must hold, or be eligible to acquire, a valid Texas Teaching Certificate.

·        Experience as a Varsity Head Basketball Coach preferred, but not required.

·        Evidence of successful experience as either a 4A/5A head basketball coach, a 4A/5A varsity assistant basketball coach or a collegiate head/assistant basketball coach.

Major Responsibilities:

·        Managing the District’s basketball program and personnel using proven leadership ability.

·        Extensive knowledge of University Interscholastic League policies governing athletics and other extracurricular/co-curricular activities.

·        Develop, direct and manage Carroll ISD’s basketball program in grades 7-12.

·        Provide leadership to students and staff to ensure an exemplary program that is competitive on a statewide basis while instilling and modeling positive character traits to all students.

·        Ability to clearly communicate ideas and to present the athletic program of Carroll ISD to patrons, students and interested parties in a positive manner.

·        Assist the Director of Athletics in planning and evaluation of the total athletic program.

·        Participate in professional development to improve skills related to coaching assignment.

·        Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Senior High School Principal and/or Director of Athletics.
